Airis String Quartet
Airis will give concerts on Saturday, August 23 at 1PM in Galleri Lille Kabelvåg and on Sunday, August 24 at 7PM in Meieriet Kultursenter, Leknes.
- Aleksandra Czajor-Kowalska, 1st violin - Grażyna Zubik, 2nd violin - Malwina Tkaczyk, viola - Anna Armatys-Borrelli, cello Airis String Quartet was founded in 2008 in Krakow to convey an unbridled student passion for contemporary music. From the very beginning, their fascinating musical exploration (although not very common for the young string quartet) has been music by contemporary Polish composers led by Krzysztof Penderecki and world music literature from the 20th and 21st centuries. A rather bold leap into a challenging contemporary repertoire brought the quartet its first success in international competitions and the enthusiasm of the audience. The student dream of a professional string quartet career developed into a fully mature choice of artistic life path.
