The first artists for 2027 are ready

The dates are set, and planning for next summer's Lofoten experience can already begin. July is the most popular time to visit Lofoten, and both accommodation and transport are often fully booked long before summer. For many, it has become a tradition to combine a few days in the spectacular nature with concerts at the international top level.
The Lofoten International Chamber Music Festival brings together musicians from the highest international level every year. The festival offers a unique combination of world-leading chamber musicians, intimate concert venues and some of Norway's most beautiful nature experiences.
Several of the artists coming to Lofoten in 2027 have previously visited the festival, while others will meet the festival audience for the first time.
Among the first artists to be announced are four notable pianists. Marc-André Hamelin is considered one of the leading pianists of our time and is internationally renowned for his technical brilliance and exceptionally broad repertoire. Dénes Várjon has established himself as a sought-after pianist and chamber musician at some of Europe's most important festivals and concert stages for many years. Anna Fedorova has performed with leading orchestras and in concert halls all over the world, and has built a significant international career. The festival will also be visited by Nikita Khnykin, a young pianist who is establishing himself internationally.
The audience can also look forward to three string quartets with different musical profiles: the British Marmen Quartet, the Norwegian Engegård Quartet and the Akela Quartet, a young ensemble that has already made a name for itself internationally.
On the vocal side, the German baritone Thomas Bauer will perform, who has made a mark in opera, concert repertoire and contemporary music throughout a long career.
One of the most exciting features of the festival will also be Klaus Mäkelä, who this time comes to Lofoten as a cellist. Most people know him today as one of the world's most sought-after conductors, and that is precisely why it will be a rare opportunity to experience him in a chamber music format.
These are the first artists to be announced. More musicians and the entire festival program will be presented in the coming months.
